Uncle John's Clan

Uncle John's Clan is a father and son musical duo comprised of Kurt and Shawn Ginter, with the flexibility to expand their lineup for larger events. Kurt performs lead vocals, keyboard, saxophone, and flute, while Shawn provides backup vocals and guitar, creating a full sound for just two musicians. The band draws heavily from Grateful Dead catalog and classic late 1960s rock, performing material from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Band, and Canned Heat. They have expanded their repertoire to include contemporary artists like Jack Johnson and are developing Dispatch covers. When additional musicians join—such as Luke Rodney on drums and vocals from Kurt's Calypso Steel Drum Band—the sound expands dynamically. Based in East Lyme, Connecticut, Uncle John's Clan has been performing for 14 years and maintains an active schedule, having completed 8 gigs in March alone. They are prepared to travel extensively and enjoy creating the right atmosphere for celebrations and private events.
