Block Island Maritime Institute

Block Island Maritime Institute (BIMI) is a waterfront event venue located on Block Island's Great Salt Pond, operating seasonally from May through October. The venue offers flexible indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, and private celebrations. BIMI features the Cove Room for intimate gatherings and additional lawn and covered porch areas for larger events. A distinctive amenity is the on-site outdoor aquarium and touch tanks, which create a unique setting for cocktail receptions. The venue provides tables, chairs, a full bar, commercial kitchen, dance floor, and state-of-the-art A/V system. BIMI has been serving the Block Island community since 1997 with a focus on maritime education and conservation. Event revenue supports the organization's marine education programs and youth activities on the island.
