Groove Authority

Groove Authority is a Boston-based wedding band specializing in high-energy performances across multiple genres including top 40, R&B, pop, funk, disco, swing, and classics. The band has earned WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards for 15 consecutive years from 2012 through 2026 and is a member of The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame. Groove Authority operates with a dedicated, committed lineup of musicians who rehearse regularly and perform together exclusively. The band books only one wedding per date and maintains the same ensemble for all events, distinguishing themselves from roster-based bands that assign different musicians for each booking. Their band leader attends every wedding to lead the performance. The band provides live music for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions. Ceremony performances feature piano and saxophone, while cocktail hour includes upbeat jazz. Reception performances utilize the full band ensemble.
