Nebula Brass Quintet

The Nebula Brass Quintet is a Boston-based classical brass ensemble comprising five accomplished musicians with extensive military band and conservatory backgrounds. The group formed five years ago and features principals from the 215th Army Band of Massachusetts. Earl Powers, the ensemble's French horn player, served as Principal French Horn for the Navy Premier Band in Washington D.C. for ten years and holds a Master's degree from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Trumpet player Andy Koskela brings thirteen years of Army Band experience and earned his Bachelor's from Berklee College of Music in 2013, studying with Charlie Lewis of the Empire Brass. Trombonist Caroline Cole holds a Master's in Music from Boston Conservatory and serves as Principal Trombonist for the 215th Army Band. Samuel Costa, the quintet's second trumpet, is completing his Master's in Music Education from Kent State University and serves as Principal Trumpet for the 215th Army Band. Tuba player Rob Needs handles the ensemble's musical arrangements and has served as Principal Tuba for the 215th Army Band for over thirty years. The group is based in Billerica, Massachusetts and performs for wedding ceremonies and celebrations throughout the Boston area.
