Northern Fried

Northern Fried is a jam band and rootsy ensemble based in Boston, Massachusetts, performing a blend of R&B, classic rock, southern rock, New Orleans funk, traditional blues, and reggae. The band draws inspiration from artists like the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, The Band, Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, Stevie Wonder, The Meters, Dave Matthews Band, Hall and Oats, Phish, and Steely Dan. Their sound features guitar, slide guitar, piano, organ, bass, drums, percussion, and multi-part vocal harmonies, with occasional saxophone accompaniment. Together for more than 20 years, Northern Fried has performed countless weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, and club gigs throughout New England and beyond. The band offers versatility in performance style, from quiet instrumental jazz sets during cocktail hours to several hours of classic rock, R&B, soul, and funk with contemporary songs mixed in. They have played memorable events at venues including Chatham Beach Club in Massachusetts, The Blithewold Mansion in Rhode Island, The State Theater in Portland, Maine, and destination weddings in Costa Rica and Bermuda. Northern Fried has also performed at notable clubs and public events, including City Winery in Boston, The Grog in Newburyport, Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, and The Wellfleet Beachcomber. Their repertoire spans decades of rock, blues, soul, funk, and jam band favorites, creating a groovy and engaging musical experience for diverse audiences.
