Portrait In Jazz

Portrait In Jazz has been performing throughout New England since 1993, when founder Brad Ellenberg formed the group while completing his Master's Degree in Jazz Composition at New England Conservatory. Originally a trio of guitar, bass, and trumpet, the ensemble expanded to include saxophone, drums, and vocals as performances required. Over the decades, Portrait In Jazz has performed hundreds of gigs at private and corporate events, clubs, and restaurants across the region. The group's flexible instrumentation allows them to adapt to various event sizes, from intimate gatherings where ambience is essential to high-energy dance events including weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and corporate functions. While their primary focus is performing jazz standards, the band comfortably covers Motown and rock classics for extended dance sets. In 2008, Ellenberg formed The Brad Ellenberg Quintet using the same musicians to perform his original jazz compositions, resulting in two albums of original music. Portrait In Jazz serves the Greater Boston area and travels up to 100 miles for events.
