Riverboat Stompers

Riverboat Stompers is a Boston-based jazz ensemble dedicated to performing authentic New Orleans jazz throughout New England. The band draws from the traditional jazz songbook, featuring popular tunes made famous by Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, and Sidney Bechet. With 16 years in business, they have performed at weddings, corporate functions, performing arts centers, the Kennedy Library, Quincy Market, and community events across the region. The band's signature approach emphasizes interactive improvisation and audience participation, encouraging guests to sing along and request songs from their repertoire. The ensemble typically features seven musicians on cornet, trombone, clarinet, piano, drums, tuba, and banjo, with frequent vocals delivered with humor and historical context. The band is flexible and can scale down to accommodate different venue sizes and budgets, and can also incorporate swing-style selections when appropriate for the event.
