1780 House

The 1780 House is an art gallery and event venue located in downtown Concord, Massachusetts. Named for the year of its original construction, this former private residence has served the Concord community for centuries. The building once housed renowned philosopher Henry David Thoreau and his family, as well as Abraham Lincoln's inauguration bodyguard, John Shepard Keyes. The current owners have lovingly refurbished the historic property, transforming it into a destination for art and culture while preserving its original charm and character. The venue offers two distinct spaces for private celebrations. The Gallery on the first floor features an open-concept, light-filled design suitable for cocktail parties and dinners. The second floor houses a cozy Boardroom for more intimate gatherings. At capacity, the house accommodates up to 48 standing guests or 30 seated guests, making it well-suited for celebrations with close family and friends. The 1780 House team collaborates with several local catering vendors to design custom menus for each event. The venue rental package includes tables, chairs, and other essential equipment. The team works with couples to provide a streamlined planning experience for rehearsal dinners and other wedding-related celebrations.
