Mike Ross brings a photojournalistic approach to wedding photography, documenting celebrations as they naturally unfold. His fascination with photography began in childhood, following his father whose images appeared in fashion magazines and medical journals. After traveling extensively and developing his skills as Chief Photographer on cruise lines throughout the Middle East, Mediterranean, Europe, Africa, and Caribbean, Mike returned to the United States to work as a staff photojournalist for Connecticut and New York daily newspapers before specializing in wedding photography. Based in Hamden, Connecticut, Mike treats each wedding as an important journalistic assignment. He blends into surroundings and moves unobtrusively to capture dynamic, artistic images throughout the celebration. While 80% of his coverage follows a photojournalistic style, the remaining 20% includes creative portraiture, formal family group shots, and requested images. His work has been featured in publications including New York Times, USA Today, Connecticut Magazine, American Profile, and Connecticut Bride. Mike is a member of WPJA, ASMP, EP, APA, and IAAP photography organizations. Mike's documentary approach allows couples to relive intimate moments and fine details from their wedding day.
