Gwyn Careg Inn is a historic wedding venue situated on 14 acres of rolling lawns and gardens in Pomfret Center, Connecticut. Built in 1760 by the Osgood family, the estate has passed through various owners over the centuries, each contributing distinctive features including Spanish gardens with a glimmering fountain, an Italian-style pond, and century-old rhododendrons. Today owned by the Bove family, the property offers a secluded colonial revival mansion surrounded by towering specimen trees and vibrant perennial gardens. The venue operates between May and October and hosts only one wedding per weekend, providing couples with exclusive access to the entire property. The mansion's timeless interiors can accommodate up to 100 guests, while the expansive lawns support tented receptions for up to 250 guests. The grounds feature blooming perennials, a serene Spanish Garden, and a picturesque pond that create a romantic backdrop for ceremonies and celebrations. The venue includes tables, chairs, tableware, linens, lighting, tents, and dance floor in their packages. An event planner works with couples throughout the planning process to bring their vision to life. Catering options include sophisticated sit-down meals, hors d'oeuvres, buffets, and open bar service, with couples free to customize their wedding feast. Six charming guest rooms and suites are available on-site for the couple and wedding party, offering elegant accommodations with modern comforts.
