Kalmia Garden at Gastler Farm is a 4th-generation family farm in Durham, Connecticut, offering all-inclusive weddings within its natural garden setting. Since 1908, the Gastler family has operated this working farm, evolving from raising chickens and dairy cows to cultivating pansies and operating a nursery, now specializing in cut flowers and garden weddings. The property features handmade stone walls of native stone, naturalized gardens that change with the seasons, a vintage cedar gazebo with brick-paved flooring, and an expansive brick patio. An arboretum of grass walking paths winds between specimen trees, and a built-in wedding wall flanked with hydrangeas provides a ceremony backdrop. The grounds include indoor preparation space with three bedrooms and parking for 80 cars with shuttle access. Gastler Farm partners exclusively with The Woodwinds for catering and staffing services. The Woodwinds handles all wedding elements including food service, bar service, planning, coordination, bridal attendant services, and rehearsal management. Rental items such as tents, dance floors, tables, and chairs are arranged through The Woodwinds based on guest count and style preferences. The farm offers organically grown florals cultivated on-site, cut day-of and arranged by in-house florists. Seasonal arrangements follow couples' color palettes and style preferences with minimal environmental impact.
