Powder Mill Barn

Powder Mill Barn is a historical wedding venue located in Enfield, CT, situated on 8 acres of property along the Scantic River. Originally established in 1845 as the horse barn of the Hazard Powder Company, which supplied gunpowder during the Civil War, the venue was converted for Square Dancing in 1959 by Ralph Sweet and is now owned by his daughter, Polly. The barn accommodates up to 100 guests and features both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. Couples can exchange vows outside under grand oak trees or inside the barn beneath fairy lights. The property includes ample space for outdoor ceremonies and photo opportunities throughout the riverside grounds. The venue hosts various scheduled activities year-round in addition to weddings. Powder Mill Barn provides event rentals including an altar, decorations, tables and chairs, and a dance floor. The team accommodates ceremonies, receptions, engagement parties, and wedding showers, supporting couples at any stage of their wedding journey.
