Roger Sherman Inn

The Roger Sherman Inn is a historic wedding venue in New Canaan, Connecticut, housed in a late 18th-century property originally owned by Reverend Justus Mitchell and his wife Martha, niece of Founding Father Roger Sherman. The 250-year-old inn features classic white siding with dark shutters and landscaped gardens that provide a picturesque New England setting. Currently owned by Joseph and Nes Jaffre, the property offers multiple private dining rooms and event spaces, each showcasing elements of the building's colonial history while maintaining elegant, classic decor. The venue can accommodate weddings ranging from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations of up to 175 seated guests through a full buyout. The largest space, the Garden Room, seats 100 guests and features floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light. Additional rooms include the Blue Room, which seats 12 for smaller events like rehearsal dinners. The inn provides 15 guestrooms and suites available for wedding party preparations or overnight accommodations, with wedding party suites located in the main house that can serve as dressing rooms.
