The District Center for the Arts

The District Center for the Arts operates as a live music hall and wedding venue inside the historic Taunton District Court building, originally constructed in 1826. The space reopened in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission to bring dynamic performing arts programming to historic Downtown Taunton Green. The exterior preserves its original courthouse architecture, featuring stately columns and red brick construction. Inside, exposed brick walls are accented by detailed woodwork and bold checkered flooring. A 14-foot-long bar area features classic warm wood finishes. The venue houses a large stage equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, designed to accommodate live bands or DJs. The main space can accommodate up to 257 guests, with an additional 40-person capacity in the bar area. The District Center for the Arts provides a dedicated event planning team that works with couples from initial consultation through setup day. They maintain a list of preferred local vendors to assist with wedding planning. Custom quotes are established during consultation, with the venue guaranteeing their best available rate for each event.
