Hathor Winds

Hathor Winds is a woodwind quintet based in Allston, Massachusetts, established in January 2014. The ensemble takes its name from the Egyptian goddess Hathor, reflecting the group's versatility and ability to evoke varied emotions through performance. Each of the five musicians brings individual style and personality to create the ensemble's distinctive sound. The group has earned recognition in national chamber music competitions, including semifinalist status in the Astral Artists' National Auditions Tour with a performance at Temple University in 2015. They were also quarter-finalists in the 2015 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and received the Judges' Special Recognition Award at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri. Hathor Winds is committed to inclusivity and expanding access to chamber music. Their repertoire spans both standard woodwind quintet literature and lesser-known works, with a focus on expanding the wind quintet canon. The ensemble serves the New England area and is available for weddings, private recitals, and other events.
