Nick Cutroneo, Classical Guitarist

Nick Cutroneo is a classical guitarist who has performed extensively throughout the United States and Italy. Known for being a communicative player with natural musicality, he has appeared at venues including The Juilliard School of Music, The Hartt School, Yale's Guitar Day, and numerous concert series throughout New Jersey and Connecticut. As a chamber musician, Mr. Cutroneo currently performs with Tempo del Fuoco, a violin and guitar duo with violinist Sarah Larsen. He was a member of the Performance 20/20 honors chamber music program at the Hartt School. Mr. Cutroneo has premiered new works by composers including Thomas Schuttenhelm, Frank Wallace, Sean Pallatroni, and Dan Lis, who dedicated a guitar concerto to him. He was featured in the Miami String Quartet Competition Winners' Concert and named finalist in the Hartt School's 2008 Paranov Concerto Competition. He holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Classical Guitar Performance from The Hartt School of Music, where he studied with Richard Provost and Christopher Ladd. Mr. Cutroneo is on faculty at Manchester Community College and the University of Connecticut's Community School of the Arts, where he founded and directs the Classical Guitar Festival. He performs on a 2006 Alan H Chapman guitar.
